What is Crescent Ice?

Crescent ice has a curved, half-moon shape. It’s typically made by commercial ice machines like Hoshizaki's, which produce individual, slow-melting crescent cubes.

How Bars Use Crescent Ice?
Efficient in Beverage Service
Liquor & Mixers: Ideal for highball and Collins glasses.
Soda & Soft Drinks: Melts slowly, keeping drinks carbonated longer.
Speed Rails: Bartenders can quickly scoop crescent ice for mixed drinks.
Space-Saving
The curved shape prevents ice cubes from clumping together.
Flows smoothly and easily from bins and dispensers, speeding up service.
Dilution Control
Crescent ice melts slower than crushed or small cube ice, which helps maintain the flavor and strength of cocktails over time.
Versatile Use
Works well in both front-of-house (cocktails, sodas) and back-of-house (food displays, chilling bottles) settings.
